Hobbits!

My favourite movies are the ones that belong to the saga of The Lord of the Rings, directed by Peter Jackson. The first time I saw them was thirteen years ago, when the first part of the saga arrived to the cinemas.

The movies are based on the novels written by J.R.R. Tolkien. Both of them (movies and novels) tell the story of The Middle Earth, a magical place populated by elves, dwarves, hobbits, orcs, ents, wizards, and lots of magical creatures. One day Frodo Baggins, a hobbit who lives in The Shire, finds a powerful ring without noticing how dangerous it could be to have the ring. Gandalf the Grey visits him and tells Frodo the ring has to be destroyed, but it can only be done with the flames of Mount Doom in Mordor.  This is how Frodo, Gandalf and a group of hobbits begin their long journey to Mordor, to destroy the ring. But through this journey they have to confront evil forces that will try to stop them, doing whatever it takes. Also they receive help from different creatures such as elves, dwarves and ents.

I really like these movies because they are part of the few ones that really show what the book tries to say, the scripts are really attached to the books, and they have great visual effects.  I also like these movies because they teach you that it doesn’t matter how little or weak you are, what really matters is how hard you try to get what you want, and what do you want to do with it. Important things are not easy to get, but they are worth the effort.

Ring Ring!

Hello everyone!

My favourite piece of technology is my cell phone; because it allows me to do a lot of things, I can chat with my friends, check my grades on u-cursos, read my emails, check my facebook, listen to music from my memory card or the radio, play a game or whatever. It is like a little computer I can put in my pocket!

I bought it last year, in June I think (I am not sure), after somebody robbed my last cell phone. And since the day I bought it, I use it every day, all day long. Probably I should not use it that much, because it is really difficult for me to read or study when my phone is near my desk.

If I wouldn’t have it, I would probably be able to study a lot more than now, but also I would be totally lost in the world, because the cell phone helps me to remember my duties, my tests and projects and it also wakes me up in the morning, so even though it distracts me a lot, it also helps me in a lot of other things.

My new semester

Hi, I am on my third semester of the career. This semester I am taking seven subjects: Development Psychology, Statistics II, Theory and Systems, Neurophysiology, Social Psychology and English III.

I really like neuroscience, so at the beginning of the semester, I asked to participate at Learning`s Laboratory, and I was accepted, so I`m going to start my capacitation on the laboratory next Monday. I hope I can get to be a teacher assistant on Learning`s subject next year. 

Besides working on the laboratory I am not taking any other extracurricular activity, but I should be taking an artistic or cultural subject, a general formative course or a sport subject, because I have to be approved at two general formative courses, and two sport subjects or cultural subjects before I finish the career. I hope I can take at least one of those subjects next semester.

This semester has been very stressful and it is just starting so I hope I don`t fail any subject and would like to be able to sleep more than five hours each night while I am doing it.

My Auto Biography

I am Francisca Díaz. I was born in 1994 in Santiago, Chile. I lived in La Florida until year 2002, and then I moved to Curacaví. While I was living in La Florida I studied at Santa María`s school, then when we moved to Curacaví I studied at three different schools: Curacaví college, El Carmelo school, and Manquecura. Now I am studying Psychology at Universidad de Chile.
In my house I live with my mom, my dad and my two sisters: Valentina and Natalia. Valentina is 15, she likes watching anime and listening to pop music. Natalia is 9 years old and she loves watching cartoons like Adventure Time. 
I love to read superheroes comics, specially about Batman, and I also like reading fantasy books, like Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, or Song of Ice and Fire. And that´s all I have to say about me.
